Haha actually I've two things to talk about. First was about the day before yesterday when I was asking my mommy if I could go night cycling. She just asked me to be careful and was curious about my route and gave suggestions on some 'tighter' road places ("oh Mountbatten is a little tight and the cars are going quite fast..might wanna change that").
I thought that was really liberal of her, compared to other parents who refuse to let their (especially) daughters go out at night/sleepover/cycling. And..that really makes me feel blessed to have such awesome parents. She just trusts that I know how to differentiate what are the things I should and should not be doing, who are the people that I should or should not be hanging out with etc. and gives me advice sometimes. And nags sometimes lol.
God gave me parents who can treat me like an adult (most of the time) and that's great (: especially when I wanna do crazy things like nightcycling or attempting to build up alcohol resistance (at home) lol.
Next thing is the night cycling. By God's grace we managed to have a party of 8 and only one didn't know how to cycle (ZW). So Kersheng, Yanwei and Kevin took turns to tandem with her. The route I planned originally was about 32km but went through alot of 'slightly' more dangerous places (with the tight roads and stuff) and my mommy was a little unconvinced. But in the end this issue didn't matter cos' we cycled on the pedestrian paths =X
I replotted our route at the range when I was there early, about 11am and went through a slightly different path which totaled 22km. During training yesterday, bow training and stuff, my arms only ache slightly today, as compared to my butt which hurts from cycling hahaha.
So I got lost around Bedok Jetty area cos' there was a construction of an extreme skate park right next to the Bayshore underpass, which I missed, so we went one big round trying to find it x) I got really frustrated and demoralised then and I committed the whole trip to God that he'll take control. Maybe he purposely made us miss it so I could have the right focus. And it really helped that Yanwei, throughout, whenever we stopped to check map and find our way, he'll say 'okay, serene you lead'. That was pretty encouraging even if he wasn't doing it for encouragement sake heh. Thankyou (: And Barbie's also la, she just said she encouraged me also xD Thanks luh
Everything went pretty smoothly after that, and people recognised Bayshore where we went for Patrick's BBQ and we were walking in the rain. People recognised Still Road when we passed by Lor K Telok Kurau as Kayhian's house. Not bad, I'm impressed (:
But at Tampines Avenue 5 the junction there was an accident. The impact was less than 5m diagonally away from me la. I was crossing the road and it just like BAM, and I stun brake for like two seconds on the road before Dlu was shouting for me to cross and not gawk like some idiot in the middle of the road. My mommy packed a basic first aid kit plus my basic first aid knowledge, I ran over and inspect wound and tie tourniquet. Xiao, when I finished I went back to my friends and I was like o.o and Kersh hugged me. He saw the wound too, it was quite bad; at least six stitches I think.
Yeah nothing really eventful happened after that. A fall from the tandem..that's about it. We took a few group photos with self timer cos there was clearly nobody around to take photo for us. Haha. IDK la, thank God I'm alive, it MIGHT have been me colliding with the motorbike and sent to hospital =/ Lucky I committed the trip to God beforehand and prayed for safety for all of us heh. Things like these abit difficult to predict or avoid, yupp.
So we cycled Bedok Reservoir Road and along Still Road and went back. They ggxxed in Macs while some of us bought breakfast. Then my turn to ggxxe after we watched sunrise (which was a little foggy so aiyah.). Came home and slept for 8 hours, tonight cannot sleep already =/

This was us looking at the shoe and Kevin Tham going 'what the hell!' And probably after he got his shoes down, the China lady came over, called Yanwei 'shuai ge' and asked him where the beach was. XD

All in all, it was a pretty cool experience of sorts. We need to do this again sometime. Thanks Barbie, Zhiwei, Kevin, Yanwei, Junwen, Kersheng and Dlu for indulging me in my crazy activities and well, having fun with me la. I think we'll plot a longer route next time, could try a 30km or even 40km route next time (:
